Applications

Indoor

Indoor electric heating ensures comfortable room temperatures, at home, at the office, in a workshop, sports hall or virtually anywhere where comfortable heat is required. Our floor warming system can be installed in all floor types whether new concrete, wooden floors or renovated floors.

Electric floor heating systems have a long life. Practically speaking our heating cables and mats last as long as the home they are installed in and no maintenance is required!

Typical applications are bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, offices or anywhere heated floors are required.

Indoor radiant floor heating consists of heating cables, mats, thermostats, and installation accessories.

In Slab Installation Project

In Slab Heating

In slab, heating is a heating cable fixed to the top layer of the slab reinforcement before slab pour. Cables are installed with the top mesh in approximately 30-40mm of concrete. The system runs during off-peak hours to cut energy costs and maximise system efficiency. Our heating cables heat the slab, in turn warming the floor covering above.

During peak hours, the system runs on the stored energy accumulated during off-peak hours.  The thermal mass the slab provides retains heat for long periods of time, insulating the slab from the outside elements minimises heat loss. This system is usually used in new construction before the slab is poured.

When used in conjunction with a solar system, this system is a good alternative or addition to batteries.

In Screed Install with Heating Cables

In Screed Heating

In screed, heating consists of heating cables fixed on top of the floor structure using a light steel mesh or fixing strips. The heating cables are embedded in a sand/cement bed which is heated and warms the floor covering.

In screed, heating is a ‘direct’ acting system that possesses some storage. This system is the best option for rooms that have some floor height flexibility. Typically embedded in 20-30mm of screed, usually, at the time of construction, these systems can raise the floor of an existing room by 30mm in addition to the floor tile.

The benefit of In-screed Systems is the ability to hold the heat for an extended period. These systems take up to 1.5 hours to heat up and give off heat for the same period once switched off.

This system works well for irregularly shaped areas. Installation is recommended by a trained professional.

Residential Heating Mat Install

Under Tile Heating

These are the thinnest self-adhesive heated mats on the market with our thinnest being the DEVIheat 150S, 2.5mm. These act as a direct heat source and are perfect for renovation projects. If you are looking for a fast and easy installation process, our Heating Mats are for you.

These Heating Mats work well for irregularly shaped rooms as the mesh can be cut* to accommodate room specifications and are extremely space friendly.

*never cut the cable as this can cause the failure of the heating system

Under Floating Floors

Insulated heating panel systems are recommended for use under manufactured floating timber floors. The panel’s polystyrene insulation minimises any heat loss downwards. Its aluminium surface ensures uniform heat distribution through the floor. The panel system promotes energy efficiency that provides up to 20% extra energy saving through integrated thermal insulation.

The system is compatible with existing tiles, wooden floors or concrete floors. However, “wet” installations require evaluation of the glue and primer in its suitability for installation below tiles/surface coverings for adhesion to the aluminium surface. Suitability must be confirmed by the supplier of the adhesives.
