Applications

Indoor

Electric heating for indoor ensures comfortable room temperatures, be it at home, at the office, in a workshop, sports hall or virtually anywhere where comfortable heat is required. Our floor heating system can be installed in all floor types whether new concrete, wooden floors or renovated floors.

Electric floor heating system has a long life. Practically speaking our heating cables and mats last as long as the house they are installed in and no maintenance is required!

Typical applications for floor heating systems are bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, offices or anywhere where comfortable heat is required.

Indoor floor heating systems consist of heating cables, mats, thermostats, and installation accessories.

Ground

The most common ice and snow melting ground applications are residential car parking areas, driveways, pavements, outdoor steps, loading platforms, ramps, bridges and drainage areas.

Our heating cables and mats controlled by electronic thermostats with moisture sensors can cost-effectively protect large areas such as parking areas, ramps or pedestrian accesses to buildings giving you convenience and safety while saving a lot of tiring and time-consuming manual work.

Pipes

Frost protection systems are installed where there is a need to prevent water and sanitary pipes from freezing and becoming ice damaged. Temperature maintenance systems ensure that hot water or fluid pipes maintain the required temperature.

The pipe tracing systems consist of electric heating cables, electronic thermostats, and installation accessories. Pipe tracing systems can be used on the inside and outside of pipes, indoor and outdoor pipe networks and pipes above and below ground.

Pipe tracing systems should be installed in the early stages of construction. It ensures the safety and prevents any hazard of damages caused by ice.

Roof

Ice and snow melting systems are installed along the roof edge or locations with a risk of ice and snow formation. Damage prevention in roof gutters and downpipes is achieved by efficient and free meltwater draining.

Electronic thermostats ensure optimal results with minimal energy consumption. These thermostats ensure precise readings of weather sensors, and the thermostats provide automatic on/off heating control for best usage.

The typical applications are roof constructions, roof gutters, downpipes, flat roofs and valley gutters.

Asphalt

DEVIasphalt™ series introduces completely new standards for high-performance cables in ice and snow melting of asphalt areas.

We recommend using the DEVIasphalt™ cables and mats for asphalt installations as they provide short term resistance to temperatures of 240 °C. These mats and cables do not require sand bed coverage. Overall, reducing time and installation costs.

To avoid cable damage; heavy machinery (rollers or asphalt laying machines) should not be used. Asphalt cover should be at least 5 cm thick from the top of the DEVIasphalt™ heating cables. An electrician should ensure cable and insulation resistance measurements both before and after asphalt is applied.

Sports fields

Laid down or ploughed in, connected to available electrical power, and used when there are no players on the field, the electric heating solutions provide more than frost protection.

Electric sports field heating is, in most cases, the multi-purpose solution for stadiums. Such an energy-efficient solution prevents the field from being adversely affected by frost and snow during the winter. Stadium heating serves as a growth and restoration stimulator for natural grass. All this ensures a better pitch that can extend the playable season, irrespective of the season or location.

The main reason for using electric heating is the simplicity and hassle-free system qualities compared to other solutions.

Horticulture

Did you know that 71% of the Worlds grape production is for wine? According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), 75,866 square kilometres of the world are for grapes.

Late spring frosts are one of the challenges vine growers face. Non-heated vines suffer inflorescence damages (up to 50%), whilst heated vines enjoy improved protection against harvest loss/damage. Overall, reducing losses by 13-20% approx.

Worldwide, the grape and wine industry rely on these three alternatives for frost protection; frost fans, sprinklers, and candles.

Electric Heating solves the challenge with energy-efficient systems using Electric Heating cables to protect vines against frost damage. Vineyard Frost Protection is a sustainable solution for a green and clean future through low energy consumption during the frost period allowing savings of up to 87% of the harvest.

Our top performer in keeping frost out of vines are DEVIsnow™ and its installation accessories. It is a high-quality resistive twin conductor heating cables with cold connections. Our heating cables resist chemical fertilizers and corrosion, the high pulling strength UV stable cable works in severe conditions with a 20-year warranty.

Main Features:

  • An energy-efficient solution using electric heating cables

  • Easy, fast and reliable installation

  • A customized approach to meet your needs, area of vinery and number of rows

  • Proven high saving impact compared to the existing methods

  • A low-carbon solution that places no harm to the landscape

  • A solution adapted to wine-growing practices (leaving space for people and machinery)

  • The 20-year warranty on heating cables

Your benefits:

  • Safety of use

Hot water

The heating cables provide power only where needed adapting output according to the ambient temperature. Also, fewer pipes and smaller boilers requirements for the DHW means fewer heat losses in the system.

The Domestic hot water systems consist of heating cables, electronic thermostats, and installation accessories.

The DEVIreg™ Therm Control DHB 330 is designed for controlling DEVIhotwatt™ self-limiting heating cables used for temperature maintenance inside pipes. Temperature regulation can be within a range of 35 °C to 70 °C.

Cold Stores

In cold stores, ice stadiums, etc. the temperature is always within the range of –20 and –30 °C. However, a cold leak occurs despite proper insulation. Consequently, materials in contact with the soil, such as foundation and floor areas, will absorb the cold and cause the ground to freeze. Water, naturally contained in soil, will change volume when turning into ice; causing substantial damage in frost erosion.

In areas where cold and dry air meets warm moist air, moisture in the warm air flow may settle on the cold surface and turn into ice. Ice conduces unwanted freezing of elements such as cold store doors/gates or door frames and can cause: damage to the door structure, weather stripping, disabling closing the door tightly and leading to increased energy consumption, etc.

Another problem in a drainage system of refrigeration equipment is condensation freezing and the inhibition free water flow.

Our solution helps you to prevent frost heave and ensure frost protection in:

  • Industrial buildings

  • Supermarkets with cold rooms

  • Cold stores

Values and benefits of indoor electric heating:

  • Eliminate the risk of foundation damage due to ice buildup

  • Safety of working environments by preventing slippery floors and frost protection

  • Reduced energy losses

  • Power saving by minimizing the running time of the system

  • Environmentally friendly

  • Investment safety
